About the Author

Audrey Nickel first fell in love with Irish language, culture, history, and music as a teenager working as a volunteer at the Expo '74 world's fair in her childhood hometown of Spokane, WA. She's been studying the Irish language seriously since 2004, and has attended multiple immersion courses, including spending a month in the Donegal Gaeltacht in 2013. When she's not speaking, teaching, or singing in Irish, she can usually be found playing the harp or singing in a classical Anglican church choir. She shares her home near Santa Cruz, CA, with her husband and daughter and with a miniature poodle named Wiley (who, of course, only responds to commands in Irish!)
