She followed that dream and founded OMNI, a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable community improvements. Since that moment, Karen has traveled to Zambia over 47 times in thirteen years. Her courage has led to intervening cases of child abuse and domestic violence saving a battered woman and her six children. Because of her faith in God, one brave woman navigates cultures and faces superstition. Leading team after team, she heads an organization that provides education, medical care, and community support to orphaned children and vulnerable populations threatened by malaria, HIV/Aids and starvation. Starting from the donation of what appeared to be a worthless mango grove near an illiterate farming village, Orphan Medical Network International was born, and, today, educates and medically cares for the most impoverished children in the Copperbelt region of Zambia.
