Description

A huge state with a diverse mix of ecoregions and over 5,000 species of plants, Texas is a great place to learn about nature. Whether exploring the Gulf Coast, eastern forests and wetlands, central and northern prairies, or Chihuahuan Desert in the west, there are unique life forms to be found. The state mammal, Nine-banded Armadillo, prowls low, wet areas; Black Bears and Bobcats forage in forests; Texas Horned Lizards prefer arid conditions. The Aransas Wildlife Refuge is the prime wintering site for endangered Whooping Cranes. To better acquaint you with the natural history of the Lone Star State, we have packaged together three portable references--Birds, Trees & Wildflowers, and Wildlife--in an attractive acetate bag. Each guide features beautiful illustrations of over 100 common species, as well as an ecoregion map showing top bird-finding, botanical, or wildlife-viewing hotspots. Laminated for durability, these lightweight, 12-panel folding pocket guides comprise a comprehensive three-pack for educators, learners, naturalists, birders, botanists, and wildlife enthusiasts who wish to sharpen their identification skills and peer more closely into the fascinating lives of some 300 familiar Texas plants and animals. Made in the USA.
